About PRSPS

The Puerto Rico Sports Performance Summit is the premier educational event in the Caribbean for professionals working in sports medicine, rehabilitation, athletic training and performance science. Now entering its third edition in May 2026, the summit brings together Division 1, professional and elite experts from the United States and Puerto Rico to share knowledge and foster collaborations with local and international attendees.

Mission & Vision

Our mission is to elevate the educational landscape of Puerto Rico by connecting local professionals with global leaders in sports performance. We aim to create an inspiring environment where clinicians, strength coaches, athletic trainers and students can learn from one another and build long‑lasting partnerships. The vision of PRSPS is to position Puerto Rico as both a world‑class destination for professional development and a welcoming gateway for international visitors to experience our culture and hospitality.

Travel to San Juan

Getting to San Juan is easier than ever. Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) is Puerto Rico’s main international hub with direct flights from 59 airports across 54 cities in 15 countries. In a typical month there are over 5,000 flights arriving at SJU – that’s roughly one flight every nine minutes. Popular non‑stop routes originate from Orlando (MCO) and New York (JFK), and the longest direct route links Madrid (MAD) to San Juan.

Once you arrive, you’ll find a variety of convenient transportation options:

  • Rental vehicles: Car rentals are available at the airport and throughout the island for visitors who prefer to explore on their own.
  • Rideshare & taxis: Uber and local taxis are convenient for getting around the city. Note that taxis typically require cash payment.
  • Tren Urbano: A 10‑mile rapid transit line with 16 stops provides an affordable way to traverse the metro area.
  • Publicos & buses: Shared vans known as publicos and public buses serve major routes; fares are paid in cash.

Major airlines serving Puerto Rico include JetBlue, American Airlines, Delta, United, Frontier, Spirit, Southwest and Avelo. For travellers from the mainland U.S., direct flights are available from cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, Newark and Philadelphia, among many others.
